چکیده

Abstract Ultra-high-performance concrete (UHPC) is a new type of with improved features such as high strength, long service life, ductility, and toughness. UHPC’s energy-intensive cement quartz sand may make it unsustainable despite its engineering expertise. Thus, UHPC that energy efficient environmentally benign should use less components industrial wastes. This review consolidates critically reviews the latest global research on coal bottom ash (CBA) fine aggregate replacement material nano-calcium silicate hydrate (C–S–H) additives. Based critical evaluation, replacing CBA up to 60% improves strength by 23%. Since high-quality natural depleting output increasing due power plants, industry can an aggregate. However, substitute in has been scarcely reported. Besides, nanomaterial technologies like nano-C–S–H have also proven increase traditional concrete’s 33%. But, their impact yet be fully explored. develop lower carbon footprint comparable or better performance market-available UHPC, further additive mechanical durability microstructure needed.

High performance of treated and washed MSWI bottom ash granulates as natural aggregate replacement within earth-moist concrete.

Municipal solid waste incineration bottom ash was treated with specially designed dry and wet treatment processes, obtaining high quality bottom ash granulate fractions (BGF) suitable for up to 100% replacement of natural gravel in concrete. The wet treatment (using only water for separating and washing) significantly lowers the leaching of e.g. chloride and sulfate, heavy metals (antimony, mol...

Evaluation of Coal Waste Ash and Rice Husk Ash on Properties of Pervious Concrete Pavement

The use of pervious concrete has been significantly considered in recent years. This consideration is due to the properties of pervious concrete in relating to the environmental sustainability that is utilized in the effective management of the runoff from rainfall. Coal extraction and rice husk obtained from milling, produces wastes that have no application and followed by environmental pollut...

Properties of Concrete with Municipal Solid Waste Incinerator Bottom Ash

The appropriate utilization of Municipal Solid Waste Incineration (MSWI) residues is a worldwide studied topic over the last decades. One of the possibilities is to use MSWI ashes in concrete production, as it is done with coal combustion products. The bottom ash features the most convenient composition for this purpose, and it is available in highest amounts among the MSWI ashes. Untreated bot...

Comparative performance of concrete pavements with recycled concrete aggregate (RCA) and virgin aggregate subbases

Using recycled concrete aggregate (RCA) as base/subbase for road construction is alternative way to manage construction waste and reduces the need for virgin aggregates. This paper discusses the long-term performance of concrete pavements on RCA granular layer in comparison to concrete pavements on virgin aggregate granular layer. 18 representative RCA pavement sections across Iowa were primary...
